Q. How is postage and handling calculated? |

OzeVillage & Gourmet Shopper proudly represents a selection of the very finest merchants from around Australia. We are not a traditional retailer or distributor in the sense that we do have a large warehouse and a single distribution point. This means freight charges need to cover charges from each location (or merchant). The advantage is we are more than able to offset this freight charge in lower than normal retail prices for merchandise, given we don't have the overheads of these traditional retailers.
Merchants will set freight charges according to the nature of their wares. As you can appreciate, a large ceramic bowl will cost more to freight than a pack of postcards.
To ensure this does not become to confusing when shopping within OzeVillage & Gourmet Shopper, we will always display a Freight Estimate as part of the Shopping Basket. This means you will clearly see the cost of merchandise, and the estimated cost of freight.
Freight Costs can only be finalised once you nominate your shipping address ( particularly if outside Australia ) and you choose a standard or express delivery method. The Freight Estimate defaults to Standard delivery within Australia.
A separate charge is payable for each delivery address.
Some merchandise for sale in OzeVillage & Gourmet Shopper require special one-off freight requirements. An example could be a Huon Pine Coffee Table from Port Arthur, Tasmania. Freight charges for these items will be negotiated separately between Ozevillage and the purchaser. Merchandise where special freight requirements exist are marked with a " Question Transport " icon.
